Planning for Next Year
We are in the process of planning for the 2024-2025 school year. If your child will not be attending Guy Weadick School next year, please respond to this email with your child’s name and what school they will be attending.
If you have a child who will be turning five by Dec. 31, 2024, they eligible to register for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Please see the CBE Kindergarten Registration page to begin the process.
Volunteers
We are in need of volunteers for upcoming field trips. All volunteers need to have a current (within last 5 years) security clearance. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office to start the process for a security clearance.
Partial Solar Eclipse
On Monday, April 8 a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Calgary. The solar event will begin just before noon and conclude by 2:00 p.m., with the maximum coverage occurring at 12:43 p.m. We know that this provides a unique learning experience for students and staff in our schools; however, there can be serious impacts to vision as a result of viewing the eclipse in an unsafe manner. During this partial solar eclipse on Monday, we would like to invite all students to remain at school during the lunch break. Please send a lunch with your child.
Students in our afternoon Kindergarten program are asked to enter the school at 12:15pm through either the regular Kindergarten door or our front door.

- Thursday, April 18- Kindergarten to Grade 3 Musical Performance “Cookies the Musical!” Performances at 1:30pm and 6:00 pm
- Friday, April 19- No School (System wide Non-Instructional day)
