It was a great week of learning at Guy Weadick School! Students were happy with the weather change at the end of the week that allowed us to spend time outside at lunch and for learning activities.

Gym

Next week our students will be participating in "Mission Impossible" in gym class. Students will be completing obstacles and using our Canadian Climber. For safety students are asked to not wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry.

Pink Shirt Day

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! A pink shirt is worn on Feb. 26 representing an act kindness that has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe.

Be Brave Hitmen Game

Grade 3-6 students will be at the Be Brave field trip to the Hitmen game on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Please ensure that all forms are signed and returned to the school. Students are not able to attend without their signed permission form. We are looking for additional volunteers, if you have police clearance and would like to volunteer please let your child’s teacher know. If you have any questions please reach out to your child’s teacher.

School Council Meeting

Our next School Council and PAC meeting is on Thursday, February 27 at 5:00 PM. This meeting will be held on-line only. The Teams Link to attend online will be sent to families on the afternoon of Feb. 27. Please note the time has been adjusted to 5:15 PM and the meeting is online only.

Next Year

We are beginning our planning for next year, if your child will be moving and not retuning to Guy Weadick School in September, please reply to this email with your child’s name and what school they will be attending. If your child is grade 6 they will automatically be registered at their next school. Our designated school is Dr. Gordon Higgins School for Grade 7. Grade 4 students who live in Taradale are designated to Ted Harrison School for Grade 5.
