October Updates | School Photos, Halloween
Dear Parents/Guardians
Winter has shown itself to us again and with that a few updates and reminders:
- Each morning our soft entry begins at 08:25 AM.
- At 08:25 AM Grade 1- 6 students are welcomed into the school through Door #1, Door# 2, Door #3 or Door #4.
- At 08:25 AM Kindergarten students are greeted at Door #5.
- Our starting bell is rung at 08:30 AM.
- Students are welcomed at Door #1 (North West Side of school) where there is an attendance clerk if they have missed the 08:30 bell. The attendance clerk will help them get on their way to class. Please try to teach your children the importance of being on time, but in the event that you've had a slight delay, the attendance desk at door #1 is open for a brief period to accommodate quick entry for student learning.
- Indoor recess is determined when the weather (Temperature and/or windchill reach minus 20 degrees Celsius.
- Please help students stay warm during inclement times. We have a supply of coats and jackets if you are in need; we would be happy to help. Please let the school know if your child needs a warm coat, etc.

Halloween
Many students enjoy dressing up to celebrate Halloween. Wearing a special costume or outfit is optional and not a requirement for students. October 31 is a day designed for regular learning and if students are planning on wearing a costume, please keep the following points in mind:
- We come to school to learn. We will be taking part in regular learning and there are no planned Halloween class parties.
- Students wearing a costume are asked to wear it in the afternoon only. If students are coming by bus, please try (as much as possible) to have small costume items that students can wear for the afternoon only.
- Students are asked not to wear masks to school
- Students are asked not to bring treats to share with the class. Many students have dietary restrictions and we are respectful of this and ask that students not share treats at the school.
Finally, thank you to the parents who came out to our School Council and Parent Association Meeting last week. We have a dedicated group of individuals to work within our school community to create a support school environment.
Sincerely
K. Bauer
Interim Principal
